RADIUM GIRLS will run March 16 – 26, 2023. Show times are at 8:00 p.m. Thursday thru Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Opening night, March 16, is $11.00 for all patrons.
Radium Girls is a gripping drama based on the true story of female laborers who were poisoned and killed by their factory’s radium-based paint. Though Radium Girls ranges from 1918 through the 1940’s, the bulk of the narrative is centered on events in New Jersey in the mid 1920’s.
The play highlights three girls who paint radium on watch dials to make them glow in the dark. The girls are instructed to finely point their brushes by molding the bristles with their mouths while painting. Soon the girls begin to fall ill as the radium attacks their bones.
